Kathryn [she/her] has always been interested in structure, mechanics, and the interaction of our humanity, space, and function. These interests inspired her study of Engineering and English Literature, but it wasn’t until she began studying human movement that these dual interests came together. Integral movement and anatomy with a fascial focus united her interests in structure, function, and the human condition. Kathryn is inspired daily by the empowering capacity of mindful movement practices to support function, comfort, health, trust, and strength in one’s entire being.

Two full weekends (10 hours each) of in-studio training.
Not-included:
Mandatory reading: Anatomy Trains in Motion by Karin Gurtner.
Mandatory props: 1 pair of Slings Massage Balls
About this course
In a unique way, Anatomy Trains in Motion explains how these myofascial meridians shape postural patterns, contribute to multidimensional movement, and influence feeling.
By the end of the course, you will understand the anatomical makeup of the myofascial meridians, their primary functions in posture and movement, and their sensory qualities. With this knowledge, you can use the Anatomy Trains map to navigate the complexities of the body in stillness and motion with greater clarity and purpose.
If you want to understand the myofascial meridians from a functional perspective and use the Anatomy Trains body map holistically, this course is for you.
Learning Outcomes
Learn how to use the myofascial meridian body map as a tool to navigate the complexity of the body in stillness and motion with greater clarity
Meet the Anatomy Trains rules, including the 7 roundhouses of Anatomy Trains in Motion
Know the 12 myofascial meridians and experience them with focused awareness in motion
By participating in this course, you will:
Discuss and experience the individual muscles and fascial structures of the myofascial meridians as well as their structural and functional relationships
Understand and experience overall postural and movement functions of the myofascial meridians
Explore sensory qualities of the myofascial meridians and their responsiveness to feeling states
Discover how myofascial meridians contribute to walking with myofascial ease

In Anatomy Trains in Motion, the integral anatomy of the myofascial meridians is explained in interactive lectures and experienced through body-minded movement applications. For clear comprehension of the structural and functional aspects, muscles and fascial structures are discussed individually and as part of the myofascial meridians.
To further connect anatomy and function, we introduce science-informed fascial movement qualities for you to embody with deliberate exercise examples throughout the course. And, to connect the course content to real life applications, the theme, walking with myofascial ease is woven into the 3 days, both in theory and practice.
